In September 2015, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution for “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, consisting of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) with 169 associated targets. Ericsson is a leading advocate for the role of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and holds that ICT can play a positive role in every one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and will provide essential infrastructure to help achieve these goals. We are delighted to see that, according to the action plan of China’s Belt and Road initiative, the connectivity of infrastructure is a priority for implementing the Belt and Road Initiative. We strongly propose that ICT be fully utilized and well deployed, because ICT is more and more integrated with existing transport infrastructure, vehicles, back-end support systems and end users. ICT is now not only playing a fundamental role but also having a transformational impact on the transport and logistics industry. As a cornerstone of our leadership approach and a strategic priority, sustainability and Corporate Responsibility (CR) is fully integrated across our business.
